Robert Turner

Robert is a two time AUDELCO award winner and participated in several AUDELCO nominated productions. Some of his notable roles were “Applegate” in Damn Yankees in which he won an Audelco, “Elegba” in the production of Oshun, and “Cassius” in Julius Ceasar Set in Africa in which he won an Audelco for choreography, and “Iku” in Shango de Ima directed by Rome Neal. Robert also traveled to the National Black Theatre Festival in North Carolina in several of the mentioned productions. Robert appeared for many years at Brooklyn Academy of Music “Dance Africa” as a dancer and choreographer. Robert has toured with Stevie Wonder and several other artists. Robert recently choreographed an opera “No Easy Walk to Freedom” with a cast of fifty singers, dancers and musicians Riverside Church Theatre.
